The bridal shower is one of those very special moment a bride gets excited about before her wedding day.

There's no better way to honor a bride-to-be than with a bridal shower, but where do you start? Here's your step-by-step guide to everything you need, from picking out the bridal shower invitations to making sure all of the guests have a blast. First, think themes! There  are lots of bridal shower ideas to inspire you. Check out the photos below!

Who Should Be on Your Bridal Train

Choosing your bridesmaids is a very important decision. They are after all going to be by your side through the planning and the big day itself, so you want to make sure they’ll have your back at the wedding day front line. You may have a host of family and friends expecting or assuming they’ll be asked, and maybe even a childhood bestie you promised the role when you were 9. let
us help you decide.

While there is no number set by etiquette, most people agree that twelve is the limit. That’s more than a soccer team so fair enough. The actual number should be determined by how big your wedding is. Also, remember the implications of a bigger train – more potential for complications with dresses and the shower; and you’ll have to pay for more bouquets and accessories.
Go with blood , Your sisters and his
try to include them all. Your friends love you and have been through a lot with you but family is family. Even if you’re not close to your sister-in-law, you’re marrying her brother so she will always be a part of your life.

Also, even though an even number of groomsmen and bridesmaids is nice, it’s not a rule so just get creative with your procession.

Who should be MOH?

The role of Maid of Honour comes with a lot of responsibilities. She plans the bridal shower, helps with gown selection, manages meltdowns and stands in for the bride when she simply cannot deal with vendors and bad situations. This has to be someone supportive, available, decisive, efficient.

Break the mould

You can have two maids of honour if you want to. Why should you even have to choose? Just give them clear, different assignments. And who says you can only have women in your train? Your male BFF can be a brides man.He shouldn’t be left out just because he’s a guy. In the same vein, your groom’s female BFF can be a groom's woman/groom's maid.

Don’t assume

Don’t neglect to ask her just because you think she can’t afford that dress. Just create a situation where she feels free to decline if she wants to. Tell her you really want her to be your bridesmaid but you understand the financial implications, so if she cannot do it you’ll understand. Let her decide and gracefully accept her decision.

All Veiled Up! The Origin and Types Of Veils.

Have you ever stopped to think why you have to wear a veil on your wedding day? Well, the wedding veil is an old tradition that has withstood the test of time and varying culture. There are many explanations and folk stories around the wedding veil. Ancient Rome and Greek believed that the veil served as a protection against evil spirit. In those times the veil was worn to frighten evil spirits or disguise the bride.
However over the years the symbol of the veil changed and people now believe that the veil symbolizes obedience, modesty and purity In the Christian setting the veil stands as a head covering.

It will interest you to know that there are various kinds of veil. Veils are usually distinguished by their length.

Elbow Length Veil
The Elbow length veil is quite hassle free and easy to handle, it usually ends around your elbow. Your chief bridesmaid will thank you for taking one duty off her!

Chapel Veil
The chapel veil is regal and relatively comfortable too. If you’re wearing a mermaid dress this will suit you perfectly. It usually stops just by the length of your dress.

Ballet Length Veil
The Ballet length veil is the least popular, but this veil is elegant and beautiful all the same time. It is also known as the sweep veil.

Fly away Veil

The fly away veil or shoulder length is a wispy multilayered veil that sweeps the shoulder. If you have details on your dress you would love to show off, then the fly away is your best bet.
Bird cage Veil

The bird cage veil is the shortest length of veil and has recently become popular over the years. Want to be different? Then the bird cage is for you.

Finger Tip Veil

We love the fingertip veil for many other reasons but majorly because kate middleton wore it. This veil is a perfect fit for most brides and is very flattering. It usually stops at the end of your finger tip.
